My Current Wellness Goals & How to Have BALANCE

Part of being on a platform that allows me to display my life online is being able to share my goals with others & teach people how to set achievable goals for themselves and encourage them to make healthy changes. However...

A lot of the time, I am misunderstood.

Over everything, I am a college student. I am not perfect. I stay up too late, I eat ice cream, I skip workouts, and I go out with friends. This is not wrong! This is BALANCE!

Balance: a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.

So yes, I work out and I eat right and strive to look and feel my best. But I also constantly remind myself that at this time in my life, I have the ability to be lenient with myself in a healthy way. As long as I still have goals for the future and I feel good about myself and the things I am doing, I am able to keep myself in check. I also owe a lot of credit to my parents. I have an extremely open relationship with them, so any time I feel like my priorities aren't in check, they remind me of my purpose, and help me stay on track. Now on to my goals...

Healthy Eating Goals
Always have 3 balanced meals a day
Keep a basic 50% carb, 30% fat, 20% protein ratio

Fitness Goals
Hit 4-5 workouts a week
*I pre-plan my week of workouts so that I can just go to the gym & know what I have to do (I highly recommend doing this)*

Mental Health Goals
I try to meditate for 10 minutes every couple days right before I go to bed or right when I wake up
This mainly helps me with stress, but also helps me be more productive and think about the goals I want to accomplish (short & long-term)

My favorite way to meditate is with the Headspace app which provides me with guided meditations. This is a great app for people who have never meditated before.
