Visiting the Sam Edelman Offices

This past week I had the opportunity to go to the Sam Edelman offices and learn about how the company works. As I go to more and more offices and showrooms, I have learned that each company is truly so different. Some decide to take a more laid back approach when it comes to the setup of the office and the attire, while other brands tend to have more proper clothing and structured offices. One of my favorite parts of being there was seeing the roles that each person plays in making the brand so great. A lot of the time people don't realize how hands-on you have to be when you are in fashion and how behind the scenes, it is usually not so glamorous. I also got to see some of the amazing shoes, bags, and clothes inside the showroom, which was so amazing. I love how fashion requires you to see into the future in order to make sure each product is incorporating the trends for the following season. Another highlight of my day was going into the Soho store and realizing that there was a connection with the people working in the office, and the people in the store. Most of the time a brand's stores really have nothing to do with the behind the scenes work, but I like how both sort of play off of each other since they're close by. Also, if you have never been, or even if you have, you need to go into the store ASAP because not only did they have the best staple shoes for fall, but also some extremely trendy pieces of jewelry as well as adorable clothing. 

It was such a great opportunity to be able to meet all the people that I did, and this is already helping me take another step into the industry. Thank you to all the people that I got to spend some time with and I hope to come back soon.
