Final Beach Weekend
This past weekend and the beginning of this week is dedicated to one of my favorite places- Bethany Beach, Delaware.
The long-standing tradition on my mom's side of the family is that we rent out a beach house in Bethany for one week every August. I think the thing that is so special about this vacation is that my mom has been going to Bethany with her parents, brother and sister ever since she was born. Now, the beach week includes my mom, dad, sister, 2 aunts, 2 uncles, 4 cousins, and grandparents.
If you lost track, that is 14 people living under 1 roof for the past 20 summers (at least since I've been alive).
I definitely take it for granted that I am lucky enough to spend this quality time with my entire family, no matter how much we get on each other's nerves. The beach week is all about making memories that last for life...or at least for rest of the year until we get to do it all over again.
