Time For a Health Kick!

Now that summer is coming to a close, I feel more motivated than ever to set some new ground rules for my everyday habits.

Due to summer being a more relaxed time of year, some people find themselves disregarding their usual workout routines and eating habits. This can be extremely discouraging.

I am the first to admit that I am not perfect and have definitely fallen off the wagon in the past couple months. However, it doesn't mean that my health isn't important to me. It just means I was not making it my priority.

So here we are with fall around the corner, and it's time to remind ourselves why our health is so important. Below I am sharing all the techniques I use to get back into my healthy habits & feeling my best.

Eat a Nourishing Breakfast

Breakfast is so important because it sets the tone for the entire day. It also has tons of benefits such as boosting your metabolism, helping you focus, and giving you energy.

Drink Half Your Weight in Water

In order to make sure you're getting enough H20 each day, use the body weight formula. All you do is take your body weight, divide it in half, and that is the amount of ounces you should drink per day.

Take Vitamins

If you currently don't take any vitamins, you can do a self analyzation to figure out what you might need. For example, if you are feeling tired, B12 would be a good vitamin to start taking (I will do a longer post on this soon). To start out, try taking a multivitamin every day.

Plan Workouts Ahead

Take some time to sit down with your schedule and figure out the best times for your workouts. This way, you have no excuse to miss a gym session and you don't need to stress over finding the time. I also love planning out my workouts in detail so I can go to the gym knowing exactly what I need to do.

Limit

Caffeine

This one is tough for many people, but caffeine should definitely not be an everyday thing if you are prone to anxiety. Caffeine can worsen anxiety symptoms and make it hard to fall asleep. I drink decaf coffee 95% of the time and it truly does make a huge difference in how I feel.

Meditate Before Bed

An amazing benefit of meditation is that it actually can help you accomplish your health goals. If you have specific health goals, try to visualize yourself reaching them.
