Healthy Protein Thumbprint Cookies

Holiday time is officially here and being home for the holiday's usually means lots and lots of yummy food. I love to indulge and I never would miss out on my favorite home-cooked meals, but sometimes it's nice to have a healthier option around so you aren't completely splurging 24/7. These types of desserts are more like mini treats or what I like to call "smart snacking."

For these thumbprints, I took the most classic & basic thumbprint recipe, and swapped the cup of flour for equal parts protein powder, and I made sure to use all natural peanut butter. Lastly, I cut out all the added sugar in the recipe which makes this completely sugar-free!! Bonus: these cookies are only about 115 calories each, which means you can have one without throwing off a healthy day of eating.

Ingredients
1 cup or 8.8 oz of all natural creamy peanut butter
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
12 chocolate kisses (I used half peppermint half plain milk chocolate)

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix all ingredients together (except for the kisses) and place balls of batter on greased cookie sheet. Should make around 12-14 cookies

Bake at 350 for 12 minutes then take out & let cool for 3-5 minutes. Press kisses into them & enjoy immediately
