What I Eat in a Day in College
A huge internet trend at the moment is seeing what your favorite fitness/health bloggers/youtubers eat in a day, and so by popular request, I'll be doing the same! Obviously day to day my routine changes, but I am showing you my typical Monday of running around to class, doing work, and eating in between. I hope you enjoy and comment below if you would like to see a full week!
Ps. A lot of the products I use will be highlighted in blue, so if you would like to purchase any of them online, just click the blue writing and it will take you right to the websites where you can order them!
Breakfast: 12 pm; I woke up late today since I didn't have class until 1:00 , so I started my day with my favorite gluten-free brown rice cereal with raspberries and coffee with dairy-free creamer
Lunch: Around 4:00; Obviously my days are full of intuitive eating, so although the times of my eating are very off, it is mainly because I really tune into my hunger cues and make sure I am eating on my own time. For lunch I had a sandwich on gluten-free bread (only because it is smaller than the big sub rolls they serve) with turkey, tomato, spinach, avocado, banana peppers, and honey mustard. I also had a small cup of vegetable soup on the side.
Snack: 5:45; I ate some organic pretzels with my favorite flavor hummus, Sabra Roasted Red Pepper.
Dinner: 8:30; I had a light dinner since I did have a bigger lunch and snack before, so for dinner I had two slices of avocado toast using sprouted honey wheat bread and 1/2 of an organic avocado. I think the best part about flexible dieting is that I used to be afraid of eating too much bread or carbs, but clearly today my body was craving that and so I ate it without even thinking about it!
Late-night snack/dessert; 2 pieces of Dove dark chocolate...One thing I can't possibly live without is dark chocolate, and I usually incorporate it into my day in some way!
I want the main takeaway from this post to be that I am not perfect, and you shouldn't try to be either. Eat what you feel like eating, and have what your body craves. I know all the in's and out's of how to achieve a perfectly 'clean' and healthy diet, but the truth is that one specific way of eating is not going to satisfy or work for everyone. I used to try to be so strict because I thought that was correct, but truthfully, eating "correctly" is eating how you want and living in a realistic and balanced way.
